Vera Schnider

Following studies in modern harp specialising in contemporary music, Vera Schnider undertook further study of historical performance practice at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Today she works as a freelance harpist with orchestras such as the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, LaCetra Baroque Orchestra, les passions de l'âme, the Orchestra of Europe and Lucerne Symphony Orchestra. The greater portion of her work is however in the area of chamber music, through which she regularly performs with groups in a variety of styles such as ensemble proton bern, voces suaves, la Morra, café international, Collegium Novum Zurich, ensemble Garage (Cologne) and ZARIN MOLL.

Vera Schnider has been invited to universities such as Stanford, Berkeley and the Mozarteum in Salzburg, performed all over Europe at festivals such as the Handel Festival in Halle, the Festivals of Early Music in Innsbruck and York, Lucerne Festival and the Bouquet Stage Festival in Kiev. Vera Schnider compliments her busy concert calendar by working for the cultural sector behind the scenes including as Co-Curator of the Music Festival Bern, Artistic Director of various ensembles and as a member of the Music Advisory Committee of both urban and rural cantons of Basel.
