Die Kölner Akademie is a unique ensemble based in Cologne which performs music of the seventeenth through the twenty-first centuries on both modern and period instruments with world-renowned vocal and instrumental soloists.

The ensemble seeks to bring out the composers' intentions by employing the most up-to-date information on performance practice, historical seating plans, critical editions and the proper instrumentation for each work.

Die Kölner Akademie’s performances have received critical acclaim at major festivals in Germany, Austria, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Estonia and Iceland. Many of these performances have been broadcast live and several have been filmed for television.
